Precious Moments at Sampaguita Gardens

Jojo's Christmas Cottage

After our trip to Boracay, our flight back to Manila will be via Kalibo.  Quennie arranged to have a side trip to the Sampaguita Gardens in Kalibo which is just about 15-20 minutes from the airport.  It was also the perfect time to meet Clarissa, our sponsored child thru World Vision, who is based in […]

Bacolod Food Trip

Whenever I return to my hometown, my diet is completely forgotten. I would usually resist the urge to eat a lot on the first day, second day, third… no. I would usually give up on the third day. It would be two servings of chicken inasal and two servings of rice at our place in […]

Back in Baguio

The original plan was to go to Polillo Island. We were invited to be there and were asked that the youth will conduct the Sabbath services. However, the weather wasn’t so kind and we were advice not to push through with the activity. It would be a long weekend and we wanted to have a […]

Way of the Sun

Viaje del Sol or “Way of the Sun”. That’s what they call the journey to the hidden destinations in Laguna, Batangas and Quezon. If you thought Laguna was just for the hot spring resorts, Batangas was just for beaches and Quezon was just for the mountain trekkers, Viaje del Sol will surprise you. Viaje del […]

It's not worth it

I realized two things last weekend. 1)  Manila Ocean Park didn’t meet my expectations.  At 400pesos, I find it expensive. 2)  The free Ipod Nano from BDO was too good to be true.  It’s free with a big IF. For me, they’re not worth it… yet.

When the cat is away…

Quennie left last Saturday for Madrid.  She will be there for two weeks for a company training.  And since she is already in Europe, she decided to make a personal trip to Paris.  Damn.  While I was able to take a picture of the Eiffel Tower mock-up in Las Vegas, I envy Quennie for being […]

Siquijor Demystified

This is the final leg of our November Vacation Trilogy.  Siquijor has been known as the Mystic Island because it is popular for its healer and supernatural stories.  When we planned to go here, we dont have any idea what to do or where to go.  We didn’t even plan to stay here for the […]

Nothing Small About Apo

Next stop of our November vacation trilogy was Apo Island.  I never knew the place until Portia mentioned it.  I thought it was far and unreachable.  Then I started doing research about the island.  The more I learned about it, the more excited I became to go to this island. Apo Island is just a small […]

The City Next Door: Dumaguete City

Whenever I hear about Dumaguete, Siliman University and the Rizal Boulevard comes to my mind and nothing else.  I mean, what is there besides those two?  Usually, these are the only places people will associate with Dumaguete.  So a trip to Dumaguete would sound boring to me.  But Portia, my high school friend,  says there is more […]

Seeing the other side of Negros

I just got back from a 5-day trip to the other side of Negros.  I have visited Negros Oriental, Apo Island and Siquijor.  A great vacation before the year ends.  Although I grew up in Bacolod and visited several town in Negros Occidental, I have never been to Negros Oriental.  When Cebu Pacific offered the Piso Fare early […]
